GoDaddy's refund policy

Not only GoDaddy, but most foreign domain / hosting providers also have a refund policy - Refund or Money Back Guarantee. If after 1 period of service registration, you do not want to continue using it, you can cancel and get back the full amount paid.

GoDaddy has a lot of different services so their refund policy is also different.

General provisions with products and services at GoDaddy:

• You can request a refund within 45 days of use with annual payment order.
• For monthly payment orders, the time to request a refund is 48 hours.
• After 45 days, you can still request a refund for the time you have not used up the service, but will receive as In-store Credit (not cash, can only be used to order on GoDaddy).
• Please ask support in advance for whether or not you receive a refund, then cancel your product or service (and related items).
• All refund requests must state whether you want to receive In-store Credit or receive money on your card / PayPal account. In-store Credit immediately returns to your account and is only used for services at GoDaddy, otherwise you have to wait a few weeks if received via card or PayPal account.

Products with special refund rules

• Ad Spend:  With the Search Engine Visibility service, you cannot receive refunds for the current month, only for later months.
• Assisted Service:  Can be refunded within the first 3 months.
• Domains by Proxy®:  Can be refunded if you cancel the domain within the first 5 days after purchase. In case you are automatically renewed, you can request a refund within 30 days after the extension.
• Domain name registration :  Refundable if canceled and processed in the first 5 days after registration.

Types of national domain names have different refund times:

• .cn, .com.cn, .net.cn, .org.cn: 15 days
• .me: 2 days
• .mx, .com.mx: 45 days
• .com.tw, .org.tw, .idv.tw: 4 days

The following types of domain names are not refundable when canceling:

Domain is automatically renewed

If you renew for 1 year, you can get a refund if you cancel within 45 days.

If extended for many years, you can only refund if you cancel within 5 days after the expiry.

ICANN fee can be refunded within 5 days after domain extension.

Domain renewed manually

Refund is only possible if canceled within 5 days after renewal.

Auction Featured Listings

You can refund within 24 hours if there is no bid.

GoDaddy Auctions® Additional Categories

You can refund within 48 hours if there is no bid.

Premium DNS : refund available within first 5 days of purchase

Protected Registration : Refundable within the first 5 days after purchase

SSL Certificates and Renewals

All SSL certificates (used or not) can be fully refunded within the first 45 days. After 45 days, you can claim as In Store Credit for the remaining time.

How to submit a refund request at GoDaddy

After confirming the service is refundable,  contact GoDaddy via Live chat , ask them for a refund. If they confirm that there are no issues, cancel the service.

Note that by default the money will be refunded to an Instore Credit account (instantly), you can request a refund to your bank card account (it may take up to several weeks to receive).
